COVID-19 Lockdown: Lagos Mortuaries Now Full And Need Urgent Decongestion — Governor Sanwo-Olu



The Governor Of Lagos State Sanwo-Olu have come out to say that The mortuaries in Lagos State is congested with lot of dead bodies due to coronavirus lockdown in the state. He made this Known when he was having a press briefing on Saturday April 25.

The Major reason why the mortuaries are congested is because residents of the state are unable to do Burial for their love ones, but the governor have outlined measures to ensure decongestion of dead bodies in the mortuary.

According to the governor, he pleaded to all residents in Lagos to go and schedule burial arrangement of their love ones , so that they can bury the dead.
He also noted that the Mortuaries in Lagos State is not full because of COVID-19 Deaths, so he sees no reason why people cannot bury their love ones.

Lagosians can hold and attend funeral burial of their love ones in the state provided they follow the rules.
The rules are:

1. The total number of people in the funeral should not be more than 20 persons and it should not exceed 20 persons.

2. Social Distancing should be maintain at the funeral ceremony.

3. All attendees that come for the burial must wear Face masks and wash their hands after the ceremony.

4. There must be no reception,party after the burial.


The governor also noted after two weeks of this directives, if the mortuaries are still congested with dead bodies, the government will do a mass burial for the dead.
