Governor Duoye Diri has ordered a total lockdown of Bayelsa state after recording it's first coronavirus confirmed case.
According to reports, the index case is a 47 year old woman with a medical history of Hypertension and Diabetes. The Woman presented her self to Bayelsa Specialist Hospital In Yenagoa with a history of fever, cough, poor appetite, headache, chest pains for over a week.
When she was asked of traveling history,she denied, she did not travel to any state during this period of the pandemic.
As gathered , she is in a stable condition and have been transferred to Isolation center in Niger Delta Teaching Hospital Okolobiri.
Governor Duoye Diri has declared a lock down starting from today , April 27th Midnight. He also said that only essential workers, food sellers and pharmaceuticals are exempted from the lock down.
